CKC Ch Keikewabic's Agassiz Of Tundra, ROM, CAM, CGC, TT, WPD May 13, 1993 - September 14, 2003  When you look in the face of a Spiritrun malamute, you see Amber. Her list of accomplishments is long, as is her list of admirers and champion offspring. Everything we have learned and continue to learn we owe to Amber. As the foundation of Spiritrun Kennels, she possessed the grace and dignity of a true matriarch. She joined our lives when she was four years old and produced one litter with us (with Tyler). That magnificent litter produced seven Canadian Champions; five American/Canadian Champions; Specialty and National Specialty winners; a Multi-BIS, BISS winner; two BPIS winners and the list goes on. She has earned the Canadian Award of Merit (CAM) and the American Register of Merit (ROM) for being a top producer in the breed. No slouch in the show ring herself, Amber was a multi-Group Placer and one of the highlights of her career was winning the Breed at the Northern Ontario Working Dog Association Specialty, from the Veteran's Class, over many top ranked male Specials of the day! Amber's gentle, benevolent nature touched the lives of all who knew her -- everyone loved her, and in turn, she loved everyone. She loved to entertain a crowd, too, whether she was showing off in a conformation ring, or flaunting her stuffed toy collection, she made sure everybody noticed how blessed and special she was. We are fortunate to be able to look out into our kennel and see Amber reflecting back at us in the faces of her descendants. She has left us quite a legacy. As the dam of Tobe, Tyler, Maliik, Tundra, Kyrie, MacTier, Blaze and Crystal, she has passed along her many valuable traits. She truly deserves a place amongst The Great Ones. We thought she would have a presence in the veteran's ring at the Specialties in the fall of '03, but that was not to be. So give your veteran's an extra special hug every day; you just don't realize how valuable your time together is until it is taken away. We have been truly blessed to have had Amber in our lives and we will carry her memory forward in our hearts. Amber was beyond special to us and not a day goes by that we don't think of her. She impacted our lives in more ways than we can describe. We will be together always, her spirit surrounding us and her memory in our hearts.
